Bryan home in Hawaii, celebrates Bryan Clay Day

Bryan arrived in Hawaii on August 29th to a great honor and great surprise. Gov. Linda Lingle declared August 29th, 2008, “Bryan Clay Day” in honor of the Olympic decathlon champion’s success at the previous two Olympics.

While in Hawaii, Bryan has signed autographs for fans, spoken at Kaneohe Marine Corps Base, and has been simply soaking up the support from his friends and fans in Hawaii .

“I think Hawaii is the most supportive state in the country,” said Clay. “I don’t think anybody gets behind their athletes like Hawaii does and for that, I thank everybody in Hawaii for that.”

Bryan is taking time to enjoy the accomplishment and the support of his fans before he turns his focus back to training.

“It’s been anything but normal since then, but just to know that I’m supported by my state, just makes all the hard times and sacrifices that much more worth while,” said Clay.

Bryan and Sarah also sat down with KHNL News 8 For an exclusive interview about how the couple deals with the new success and Bryan’s difficult travel schedule.

Yes, I’m interested in updates!
